1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Alo Drive application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services. Alo Drive reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Description of Services
Alo Drive is a ride-booking platform that connects passengers ("Riders") with independent drivers ("Drivers"). Our services include:
- On-demand ride booking
- Scheduled ride reservations
- Flat-rate rides for popular routes
- Errand and package delivery services
- Ride fare estimation
Alo Drive acts solely as an intermediary platform. Drivers are independent contractors and are not employees of Alo Drive.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use Alo Drive services. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
4. Account Registration
To use Alo Drive, you must register an account by providing accurate and complete information, including a valid phone number. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying Alo Drive immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
5. Ride Booking & Cancellation
Booking: When you request a ride, the App will match you with an available Driver. Fare estimates are provided before booking and may vary based on route, traffic, demand, and vehicle type.
Cancellation: You may cancel a ride request before the Driver arrives. Cancellation fees may apply if the cancellation occurs after the Driver has accepted and is en route. Repeated cancellations may result in account restrictions.
6. Pricing & Payment
- Fares are calculated based on distance, time, vehicle type, and applicable rates
- Applicable taxes and service fees will be added to the base fare
- Payment is processed securely through the App via credit/debit card or other supported payment methods
- Tips for Drivers are optional and appreciated
- Alo Drive reserves the right to adjust pricing at any time
7. Packages & Subscriptions
Alo Drive may offer ride packages and subscription plans. By purchasing a package:
- You agree to the specific terms associated with that package
- Packages are non-refundable unless otherwise stated
- Unused rides or credits may expire as specified in the package details
8. User Conduct
By using Alo Drive, you agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Harass, threaten, or intimidate Drivers or other users
- Damage or soil the Driver's vehicle
- Transport illegal substances or prohibited items
- Attempt to defraud Alo Drive, Drivers, or other users
- Use the App while impaired by drugs or alcohol in a manner that endangers safety
- Share your account with others or create multiple accounts
9. Driver Responsibilities
Drivers using the Alo Drive platform agree to:
- Maintain a valid driver's license and vehicle registration
- Carry adequate vehicle insurance at all times
- Keep their vehicle in safe and clean condition
- Follow all applicable traffic laws and regulations
- Treat all Riders with respect and professionalism
- Not discriminate against Riders on any basis
10. Safety & Emergency
Alo Drive provides an SOS/emergency feature within the App. In case of an emergency during a ride:
- Use the in-app SOS button to alert emergency services
- Always call 911 or local emergency services for immediate threats
- Report any safety concerns to Alo Drive support immediately
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Alo Drive is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App
- Alo Drive does not guarantee the availability, punctuality, or quality of rides
- Alo Drive is not responsible for the actions or conduct of Drivers or Riders
- Your use of the App is at your own risk
12. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, logos, and intellectual property displayed on the App are the property of Alo Drive or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content without prior written consent.
13. Account Termination
Alo Drive reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for:
- Violation of these Terms
- Fraudulent or illegal activity
- Behavior that endangers the safety of others
- Extended period of inactivity
You may also delete your account at any time through the App settings.
14. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Alo Drive shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the laws of Canada, in the province where Alo Drive operates.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada and the applicable provincial laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
16. Changes to Terms
Alo Drive may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
